We made it up to the Ridge the Saturday before Ridge Week to get more projects done: we assembled and stained all 10 benches and helped dad get the flushing outdoor toilet walls installed.
We went on our first family hike of the summer: Buffalo Peak. Short (because you practically drive to the top) but so beautiful. Max hiked the whole mile by himself. :)
Oh Theo... I shouldn't have left the 3/4ths empty waffle batter bowl (saved so Alec could have some fresh ones when he woke up) out on the counter while I showered.
Theo loves to sleep with his babies. They need to be lined up just so and all tucked in.
Happy Father's Day to Chris! I made him Beef Stroganoff (a meal he likes but I don't make hardly at all because I don't really like it). All the kids loved it. Guess I need to make it more often (ugh!).
Haircuts! I forgot to get Alec's 'after' picture. But this is DEFINITELY the longest his hair has ever been.
Archibald Girls Trip (with daughters) 2021. We went down to St. George to see Beauty and the Beast at the Tuacahn. It was amazing. The next day we went for a run while the girls watched a morning movie, then swam in the pool, then went shopping and got pedicures and went out to eat then stayed up late doing facials! Sunday we had a good sleep in and then checked out and drove him... stoping by Cove Fort. A church history site off the freeway half-way to eat a lunch and tour the fort. It was really interesting. I forgot to take a picture of the actual fort but heres the house that the original leaders (Hinkley family) lived in before they established the fort.
Trying to be intentional about doing fun things with the kids, just our family sometimes. We headed down to Springville for the Art Days festival or something. Memorable moment was Max pulling down his pants in the middle of the field to pee because I wasn't fast enough getting his shoes from the stroller to find the bathrooms.
The kids did a Tennis Camp 4 mornings a week for 2 weeks. They all really loved it and improved in their skills! The little boys and I enjoyed the many parks nearby during their class.
Craft Club met twice a week in June. We did carving rubber stamps, carving soap, 3D paper models, paper Machee and painting.
Cooking Club also met twice a week and we did: Empanadas, Creme Brulee, Scones, Soft Pretzels, and a finale of Nailed It! with cakes. We broke into teams for the finale and had 2 hours to make a cake and decorate it like the picture. There was also a surprise ingredient to use for each cake. Charlie and his friend Levi chose the Hobbit House cake with graham crackers as the surprise ingredient. Gwen and Mia chose the Monkey Cake with butterscotch chips as the surprise ingredient. Mady and Alec did the Donut Cake with lemon being the surprise ingredient. I called some neighborhood friends over to judge the cake and vote on awards: Charlie and Levi won most creative, Gwen and Mia got the overall favorite award and Mady and Alec got most accurate.
Alec led the Drawing club and created a Google Presentation Slide show for every day with a new word prompt. We invited cousins and aunts and uncles to join us and submit their pictures. These are just a few of the ones we took with my phone camera. It went pretty strong for the first week but petered out during the second week but it was really fun when we did it!
